On 13th– 14th September 2023 we organized the 4.UNCAN.eu Workshop: “Mapping European Cancer Research Infrastructures” in Brussels (Belgium).
The Workshop meeting connected several European initiatives, together with 4.UNCAN.eu CSA partners and discussed UNCAN.eu with representative of the European Commission.
On the first day, we discussed to the latest update on the UNCAN project, followed by the overview of European Commission and the Cancer Mission Board on current initiatives and cancer research in Europe. Then, relevant European infrastructures presented and gave input suggestions for the blueprint and the creation of the future European Federated Cancer Research Data Hub.
Participants also joined round table discussions, where they could share advice and ideas for the roadmap of the UNCAN.eu platform.
The second day was focused on internal discussion among the UNCAN.eu Executive Committee members to approach the writing of the Blueprint document to be submitted to the European Commission. The consultations from the first day were discussed and integrated with information collected during the last months.
The workshop results will contribute to prepare the final Blueprint for the establishment of the European Federated Cancer Research Data Hub and the UNCAN.eu platform.
