Following a recommendation from the Mission on Cancer and as a flagship of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, the UNCAN.eu network is poised to become a European Federated Cancer Research Data Hub connecting any type of patient-derived and other research data that could improve our understanding of cancer. The global ambition is to leverage these data to unearth the next breakthroughs in cancer prevention, early diagnosis, care and quality of life of cancer patients.
The 15-month Coordination and Support project, 4.UNCAN.eu, has generated a strategic roadmap for the establishment and future development of UNCAN.eu—serving as a blueprint. This blueprint, outlining the implementation of a European Federated Cancer Research Data Hub, was presented to the European Commission as the key outcome of the project.
